Philadelphia's CRUISR make dancey, melodic indie pop with a frenetic '80s new wave vibe. Formed in 2012, CRUISR initially began as the solo project of singer/songwriter Andy States. Working on home recordings, States began corresponding with Youth Lagoon's Jeremy Park, asking for recording advice and sharing demos. This led to a collaboration between States and Park, resulting in a self-titled EP. Subsequently, States began forming a live version of CRUISR, bringing on board drummer Jon Van Dine, bassist Kyle Cook, and guitarist Bruno Catrambone. In 2014, CRUISR released their sophomore EP, All Over, on Vagrant Records. Over the next few years, the band stayed busy playing dates with Bleachers, Imagine Dragons, and Young Rising Sons. More singles followed in 2015 including "Go for It" and "Throw Shade." Also around this time, Cook left the band to focus on other pursuits. In 2018, CRUISR supported Matt & Kim on tour and delivered the single "Mind Eraser." ~ Matt Collar
