Born Marylebone London, lives and hometown Bristol
Dan Donovan: Singer/Songwriter, Producer, Musician.
Dan relocated to Bristol from London where his musical journey started listening to Tamla Motown, Soul and Reggae of the late 60s, by the early 70s a more eclectic taste had developed, Steely Dan, Peter Gabriel, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, he started writeing and picked up his first guitar the same time.
In 1995 when recording equipment became accessible/affordable he developed his first studio and it became a hive of activity for, drum & bass and hip hop producers and very cool and experimental period for him.
Dan's first release was, State Of Mind, Expose the Hide-Out, a compilation album of artists recording at the studio and released on the Bristol Trip Hop label, Cup Of Tea Records, 3 of his tracks were licensed to 6 various artist dance albums, Secret Affair, (State of mind) Moments of pleasure and Driftin (Dextrous).
In 1999 he developed a home studio to focus on production and producing a balance of mixing live and electronic.
2006 he relocated to Lithuania where during the building of his new studio he met Programmer/Sound engineer Art Bilaisis and artist, vocalist Aja.
His first project was writing, producing and playing all instruments on the album, Laboonava, featuring Aja on vocals, followed by his first solo project the EP Light & Dark.
Dan has now returned to Bristol and looking forward to other projects.
