Dean Ting (Chinese: 丁世光), Chinese singer-songwriters and producer.
He created a crossover genre of R&B and Funk tunes which has now become his signature style, particularly well-known for having R&B mixing with Funky in his music. His songs & melodies are impressed and famous for being able to express with visualization of the story lines while listening.
Apart from R&B and Funky music, Dean has also showed his talent in Mandopop, Soul, Motown, Rock, Gospel, as well as Acoustic music by including the Chinese elements in his songs.
With the release of “The Journal”, his own debut album, in late 2017, Dean was awarded the “Best New Asian Artist (Mandarin)” and “Best New Artist” in 2018 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) and 18th Chinese Music Media Awards respectively. He has received positive feedback from local music critics and media and being featured by Apple Music Spotlight. He was also being nominated for “Best New Artist”, “Best Mandarin Album” and “Album of the Year” in 29th Golden Melody Awards (GMA), the most influential Chinese music awards in Taiwan.
Dean has also composed and produced songs for the well-known artistes David Tao, Yoga Lin, SHE… and being granted for the “Best Composer” in both Music Radio China Top Charts Awards 2009 and Singapore E-music Awards.
