Philadelphia-based shoegaze band Death of Lovers take their cues from '80s post-punk and goth, although they maintain an updated production style. The band features members of Nothing -- vocalist Domenic Palermo and drummer Kyle Kimball -- and Whirr -- bassist Nick Bassett -- who bonded during a joint tour of the United States in 2013. They decided they wanted to create music that was a little more positive, but still had a darker tone to it. To complete the lineup they invited Palermo's girlfriend CC Loo to play keys, quickly heading to the studio to record their debut EP, Buried Under a World of Roses. Over the next few years, the individual members kept working on their main projects, eventually reconvening in 2017 to write and record a full-length album, The Acrobat. ~ Liam Martin, Rovi
