Dylan Phillips is a multi-instrumentalist from the Comox Valley, BC, currently based out of Montreal, Québec. Dylan is a founding member of the platinum selling group ‘Half Moon Run’. The band has performed on stages around the world to resounding critical acclaim for their live performances.
Classically trained and devoted, Dylan has always found his first musical love with the piano. It was while he was completing his D.E.S.S. (Master’s equivalency) with André Laplante at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal that he met the musicians that would later form ‘Half Moon Run’.
Even in spite of a demanding touring schedule with Half Moon Run, Dylan finds time to practice classical piano, perform, and more recently, write for solo piano. His pieces for solo piano are improvisational in nature, but explore an honest simplicity, and in his words “my truest form of expression.” Many of the pieces live for years within the walls of his living room before being shared with anyone.
“Throes” was the first composition to make it onto the band’s records, but since it’s success, more music is now recorded and on the road to a release.
