Eslabon Armado

Eslabon Armado, translating to "linked chain" in English, is a California-based 'musica Mexicana' trio known for their organic take on the Regional Mexican music, played with a language of sierreña music. With interlocking vocal harmonies and an intricate blend of acoustic guitars and basses, they redefine traditional ranchera music by painting a vivid picture of songs heard around a campfire.

Founded in 2017 by teenage friends Pedro Tovar (lead vocalist, requinto guitarist, and songwriter), Gabriel Hidalgo (guitarist and harmony vocalist), and Bryan Tovar (acoustic bassist, bajoloche player, and harmony vocalist), Eslabon Armado sought to create an alternative fusion of various instruments based on the guitar approach of the sierreña style.

They gained significant attention following their first two singles, "Con Tus Besos" and "La Trokita," which stormed the Regional Mexican, Latin Songs, and Latin streaming lists. Their debut album in 2020, "Tu Veneno Mortal," topped the Mexican Regional Albums chart and ranked on the Top Latin albums. They followed this success with two more album releases the same year: "Vibras de Noche," and "Corta Venas," both of which also topped the Regional Mexican albums chart.

However, with the departure of Gabriel Hidalgo, the band has continued its journey as a duo releasing "Tu Veneno Mortal, Vol. 2" in 2021, and "Nostalgia" in 2022. The release of "Nostalgia" made history in the industry as the first Mexican Regional debut album to rank on the all-genre Top 200.

In 2023, Eslabon Armado's single "Ella Baila Sola" went viral and reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100, contributing to their total Spotify streams which stand tall today at over 3.6 billion. Their album in the same year, "Desvelado," entered the Top Latin Albums chart at number one and ranked at six on the Top 200, further establishing their prominence in the music industry.

Eslabon Armado carries a deep influence of their parents' generation’s music and are proponents for the Regional Mexican artist Ariel Camacho's music, known for his mastery over sierreña style. Their unique blend of regional music and sierreña, a fresh take on traditional campfire songs, has carved a unique niche for the trio-turned-duo in Latin music.

Whether it’s their compelling live performances, that they initially shared on YouTube and other social media platforms, or their prolific songwriting, the group continues to capture the essence of Mexican music.
