Formed in 2020 by Maroo Entertainment, GHOST9 is a South Korean boy group comprised of Junhyung, Shin, Kangsung, Junseong, Prince, Woojin, and Jinwoo. The group made their debut with 2020 mini-album Pre Episode 1: Door, which landed at number 14 on the Gaon Albums Chart.
Pulling together former members of K-pop group Teen Teen and reality show participants from Produce X 101 and Mix Nine, K-Pop outfit GHOST9 was announced in September 2020 by label Maroo Entertainment. A debut mini-album, Pre Episode 1: Door, arrived later that month, quickly followed by a second, Pre Episode 2: W.all, in December; they charted at number 14 and number 12 on the Gaon charts, respectively. Moving at a rapid pace through 2021, the group issued three further mini-albums -- Now: Where We Are, Here, Now: When We Are in Love, and Now: Who We Are Facing -- before landing their first award win at the 2021 Asia Artist Awards in the "Potential" category. Members Hwang Dongjun and Lee Taeseung departed the group in September and thus did not participate in the group’s fifth mini-album, Who We Are Facing.
