The Melbourne, Australia based singer-songwriter Grace Turner’s first official offering to the world was the laid back but crushing song ‘Angry’ that Grace wrote while soul-searching in France. In 2018, Turner released two singles, the first was her breakout song Dead or Alive, touching on themes of suicidal ideation and followed with the daring Easy I Fall, a song recollecting the pressure she felt as a woman in the world to please rather than put her own needs first. Both songs garnered insightful reviews and set her apart as a songwriter, vocalist and began to consolidate her folk gone indie rock sound. Turner and her band travelled to the USA for SXSW and supported artists such as Lucy Dacus (USA), Ali Barter, Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon), Mark Lanegan (Queens of the Stone Age) and Alex The Astronaut. Grace was Feature Artist on Triple J Unearthed and appeared at festivals such as Grow Your Own, Festival of The Sun and Groovin’ The Moo. Turner received the APRA Women In Music Mentorship scholarship and was teamed up with pop artist Megan Washington. Grace Turner’s much anticipated EP Half Truths was released in the height of the pandemic in 2020. The lyricism is punchy and retains a depth and authenticity that is impossible to fake. A true artist who showcases stunning intensity, Grace Turner is an artist who writes with clarity, upholds integrity and delivers with purpose.
