Indo is a pioneering voice in UK Garage, best known for the genre-defining anthem “R U Sleeping”, a track that became a staple of the late 90s underground and helped shape the sound of a movement. With its infectious vocal hook and signature 2-step groove, the record remains a timeless classic, still resonating across dancefloors and playlists decades later.

Behind the name Indo is Lamar “Hula” Mahone, an internationally recognised artist with deep roots in both UK and US dance music scenes. He is also one half of the multi-platinum act The Outhere Brothers, whose global hits dominated clubs and charts throughout the 90s, bridging hip-hop, house and party anthems with unmistakable energy.

Bringing together his transatlantic influence, Indo carved out a unique space in UK Garage, blending soulful vocals with club-ready rhythms at a time when the genre was evolving rapidly. “R U Sleeping” stands as a testament to that era, raw, emotive and built for the dance.

With a legacy that spans continents and genres, Indo continues to be recognised as a key figure in the story of UK Garage and 90s dance music culture, an artist whose work helped define the sound of a generation.
