Jacob Haage, longtime partner and collaborator with Sarah Assbring of El Perro del Mar, are now together releasing their first album RIPTIDE under their real names. The album is a commissioned work written for the Icealandic choreographer Hlín Hjálmarsdóttir's dance piece with the same name premiering on the Royal Swedish Opera’s digital stage Operan Play on June 12 2021.

After having all worked together for a performance set up by and with El Perro del Mar at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm in late 2019 the couple was asked by Hlín to compose the music for her debut dance work for the Royal Swedish Opera.
”The performance at the Dramatic Theatre included such a wide spectra of music, art and dance and it grew out of a complete mutual and intensely inspiring collaboration with Hlín," says Sarah of their first collaboration. "As both me and Jacob are longtime admirers of dance and modern dance in specific it’s also been a dream for us to one day compose music for that art form."
