Freddie Records is proud to announce the release of “Incompetente En El Amor”, the long-awaited new single from Tejano music superstar and 2024 TMA Male Vocalist of The Year, “The Voice”, JAY PEREZ!
“Incompetente En El Amor” is the lead single from Jay’s forthcoming album slated for release in early 2025. The track follows on the heels of Jay’s recent string of chart-topping singles including, “Necesito Odiarte”, “La Rajita De Canela”, “Dices” and 2024 TMA winner for Song of The Year, “Vino Maldito ft. David Lee Garza Y Los Musicales”.
“Incompetente En El Amor” was written by the songwriting team of Oscar Antonio Rosas Rodriguez and Leopoldo Zuniga Cano. The track was produced by Jay Perez music director Jay Alaniz and Freddie Records engineer Mariano Herrera. Executive producers for the song are The Martinez Brothers, (Freddie Martinez, Jr., John Martinez, and Marc Martinez).
“Incompetente En El Amor” features a midtempo conjunto arrangement with a heavy dose of accordion and bajo quinto. The song’s melodic structure and chorus, coupled with a powerful and emotive vocal performance from Jay, make this an instant classic in the Jay Perez catalog.
An official video for "Incompetente En El Amor" is also in the works and expected to premiere exclusively on YouTube/FreddieRecordsTV in early January 2025.
