Knipi, who has left a strong mark on Finnish pop music, released his anticipated self-titled solo album on October 11th 2019. The debut album, produced by Jukka Immonen, also featured keyboard player Jussi Liimatainen, drummer Heikki Kytölä and bassist Anssi Maasalo as well as guest appearances by Daniel A. Stierncreutz on keyboards and Anna Puu on backing vocals.
His second solo album titled "Valoilmiöitä" was released on february 25th 2022. Compared to the debut album, this has a slightly more optimistic feel to it. "Valoilmiöitä" features most of the same musicians and it is also produced by Jukka Immonen.
Knipi, best known for his work as a founding member, songwriter and guitarist of the Finnish band Egotrippi has achieved four Emma Prizes (Finnish Grammy) and numerous gold and platinum records throughout his career. Knipi has also enjoyed great success as a songwriter for other Finnish artists, such as Anna Puu, Jonna Tervomaa, Irina and Jenni Vartiainen.
