Ylva Haru is a Finnish singer-songwriter and producer whose deeply matured album Perhosten valtakunta (The Empire of Butterflies) was released in March 2024 by Lotta Roots.
The artist’s production, containing 12 songs, is a process album that were released in two different versions. The part II is Ylva Haru’s own mixing work and the pre work behind the album version one.
The artist's story originates from Klovharu, Tove Jansson's cottage island, where after visiting, the songwriter heard the sea singing in the autumn of 2012. With this magical experience, the artist name Ylva Haru was born, which has resonated in the form of released songs since 2016.
In her music and song arrangements, the songwriter draws inspiration from nature, other art, architecture, visuality, spirituality, mysticism, books, stories, and environments that inspire and soothe creativity.
