“A psychotic mind’s quest to find meaning and purpose”
Probably the best way to describe the sonic explorations of the collective called Kreyll.
Conceived somewhere in 2017 by long-time friends R.S. and R.L., Kreyll became the vessel to deal with their dark cynical minds fueled by anxiety, stress, doubt, distrust, disgust and episodes of psychosis.
In 2022 Kreyll released their first 3 tracks as “Demo MMXXII”, a complete D.I.Y. effort form writing and recording to artwork and released on tape by Dutch label Zwaertgevegt).
In 2024 Kreyll contributed to a split CD with BHPL, Rejoice In Moribund and Utter with the track “Kathedraal (Oratio in Ecclesia Hegemonia Remix)”, a reinterpretation of the track “Kathedraal” which will be featured in it's original form on their upcoming first full length album “Ontzielingsrituelen” .
Ontzielingsrituelen stands for the human need to create something monumental; something lasting, eternal; but with it comes the inherent existential dread of realization that inevitably everything falls into ruin and nothing lasts.
Perhaps contradictory, this existential dread is the main driver of our social, moral, cultural and human evolution, ephemerality breeds purpose, curiosity and progression. Immortality and the promise of eternal life only leads to stagnancy, regression and the destruction of the human spirit and the erosion and eventual downfall of human civilization.
