In October 2020 Mapara A Jazz rose to massive fame, due to a social media frenzy caused by their song called John Vuli Gate. This song had a lot of people, especially on Tiktok, dance to it to make it trend.
Their song John Vuli Gate, which topped music talks across Africa as the number one, received record-breaking views on TikTok, earning them the title of Tiktok Song of the Year in 2020. Song of the Year was also awarded to the song by MTvBase South Africa and other radio stations. Also winning awards for best Amapiano song, several times.
Mapara A Jazz has performed on major stages and television shows such as Idols South Africa, and they are now international artists performing in Qatar, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, and other African countries. Keeping the record as the first Amapiano artists to perform on the island of Zanzibar.
