The mondëna quartet brings opposites together to create something entirely new. The four artists from Leipzig showcase their versatility and adaptability across diverse genres, combining original compositions with unique arrangements.
With classical backgrounds as well as extensive experience in other musical realms, the musicians have come together as a modern string quartet to craft concert programs influenced by neoclassical music, folk, rock, and pop. This fusion is also reflected in their debut album, „Circles“, which bridges the gap between classical and contemporary music with dreamy, atmospheric sounds, spirited moments, and tempestuous emotions.
„Circles“ is composed entirely of original works and was nominated for the Opus Klassik 2023 in four categories. Their second album is already underway and was recorded in Ireland in November 2023, supported by the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie.
In addition to their solo performances, the mondëna quartet collaborates with exciting artists, both live on stage and in the recording studio.
The mondëna quartet places classical string instruments in a fresh context, breaks genre boundaries, and takes its audience on a sonic journey.
Shir-Ran Yinon - violin, compositions & arrangements
Sofia Beno - violin
Marie Schutrak - viola
Julia Panzer - cello
