Jeff Roy is a Los Angeles-based musician, composer, and ethnomusicologist with a performance background in the classical musics of Western Europe, South Asia, and the Arab World. A violinist and vocalist, Roy creates original compositions that swim in the cinematic soundscapes of modern neoclassical, folk, ambient, and indie pop, finding resonance with artists like Ólafur Arnalds, Agnes Obel, and Patrick Watson. Bypassing genre, Roy's music interweaves hypnotic strings, subdued vocals, melodious piano, elastic rhythms, lofi electronic beats and atmospheric sounds recorded in human-made and natural environments.
