Ann Arbor, Michigan's Pity Sex pull from the fuzzy distorted sound of '90s alternative rock, capturing elements of noise pop, indie pop, and shoegaze in various amounts. The group -- guitarist/vocalist Brittany Drake, guitarist/vocalist Brennan Greaves, drummer Sean St. Charles, and bassist Brandan Pierce -- released their first EP, Dark World, in 2012, and followed it up with the album Feast of Love in 2013 for Run for Cover Records. The album drew very positive reviews from across the board, and their next release was a split EP in 2014 with the band Adventures, on which they covered the Pixies' classic "Gigantic." In 2015, the band headed out on tour with fellow shoegazers Ceremony and recorded their second record in Pennsylvania with producer Will Yip. Titled White Hot Moon, the album was released by Run for Cover in April of 2016. ~ Jason Lymangrover, Rovi
