He emerged in 2021 with the album ‘<a href="spotify:album:46gNj9CZ0z8q8AxdG7fUDw" data-name="True Story">True Story</a>’, after a series of DIY vinyl releases. Breakout single ‘<a href="spotify:track:1YVXt56DNMZxX2vfeppJbU" data-name="(Don't) Hold Me Down">(Don't) Hold Me Down</a>’ surfaced initially among soul collectors (with the original release clocking in at over $200 on collector sites), before finding a wider audience on European radio and streaming platforms. A mainstay of BB6Music’s flagship ‘Funk & Soul’ show, it was later included on <a href="spotify:album:6hcNkOdTIF59iaY2TydgHp" data-name="The Craig Charles Trunk of Funk Volume 2">The Craig Charles Trunk of Funk Volume 2</a>.
With touring opportunities limited due to pandemic travel restrictions, he turned his attention to a quick-fire follow-up. Extensive live dates throughout Europe followed, where he gained a reputation as an impressive live act, with his own headline shows, and support/festival bills alongside the likes of <a href="spotify:artist:5tuhrLilxNi6N7D6VeQZnc" data-name="Cedric Burnside">Cedric Burnside</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:29mRqqZ15WaYjEsKNzcRkv" data-name="Robert Finley">Robert Finley</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0V7uVrIYr4FwFvUN9S4kYr" data-name="Nick Waterhouse">Nick Waterhouse</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7on1NP7h7wh2Onwvkff1pj" data-name="Michelle David & The True-tones">Michelle David & The True-tones</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0bzfPKdbXL5ezYW2z3UGQj" data-name="Michael Kiwanuka">Michael Kiwanuka</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:69fOAbSc6FEOFmvvMzlNgY" data-name="Jeremie Albino">Jeremie Albino</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:5lg8xPLWMK8R3EfQlKA5bT" data-name="GA-20">GA-20</a> .
