Pressyes' third album "Sundrops!" is out now!
It's 2025, the world is a dark place in so many ways... Along comes René Mühlberger aka PRESSYES with “Sundrops!”, his third album in seven years, conjuring up another slice of cosmopolitan pop that feels so utterly, peacefully global with its Latin grooves and jazzy modulations laced with south-east-Asian pentatonics and Caribbean steel drums, in fact it's everything from everywhere all at once except recognisably Austrian.
You could get the impression that this multi-talented one-man-band who has been dubbed “the Austrian Prince” (well, he is from Austria, and he sings and plays any instrument you will throw at him with effortless ease) is living in a parallel world of endless holiday bliss. But maybe, just maybe things aren't what they seem. Quite the opposite.
This isn't escapism after all. True, there is a lot of romantic fiction in here, and yes, the music on this album is making its own weather of permanent sunshine, but you also get the sense that at the core of this lovingly made confection there's something very, very real. And that's precisely why Sundrops! is an album that won't just make you dance around the living room, tap your toes on the bus or bang the steering wheel. It will actually move you, too.
