French electronic music producer Erwan Castex a.k.a. Rone was born in 1980 near Paris. Spotted by the InFiné label, Rone released his debut "<a href="spotify:album:6bNzMg2ZgUj11ukDoTtx3s" data-name="Bora - EP">Bora - EP</a>" in 2008, and was followed in 2009 by his acclaimed debut album "<a href="spotify:album:1kYPNJJlmQXFr70RVowEz9" data-name="Spanish Breakfast">Spanish Breakfast</a>". His second album "<a href="spotify:album:4wOVtHkQG6E190yK27b0hk" data-name="Tohu Bohu">Tohu Bohu</a>" (2012), composed when living in Berlin, features the international hits "<a href="spotify:track:4bPX3ZV62LJxidVbYjlhZL" data-name="Parade">Parade</a>" and "<a href="spotify:track:3gcq0Xiu9QOQCNPkz3Kvvi" data-name="Bye Bye Macadam">Bye Bye Macadam</a>".
Back in Paris after touring the world, Rone composed "<a href="spotify:album:04V6qz4iWdATMjRUIBqldz" data-name="Creatures">Creatures</a>" (2015), featuring collaborations with <a href="spotify:artist:2cCUtGK9sDU2EoElnk0GNB" data-name="The National">The National</a> guitarist <a href="spotify:artist:5HHKeO04SOcxUxjruFXf5l" data-name="Bryce Dessner">Bryce Dessner</a>, French pop icon <a href="spotify:artist:5aDKJuLDczfmHfRSOmHCJk" data-name="Étienne Daho">Étienne Daho</a>, and more.
Early 2017, Rone presented a unique creation at the Philharmonie de Paris where he invited friend artists to join the show: <a href="spotify:artist:3RUrxP39mcFwJh9bdK1xc7" data-name="John Stanier">John Stanier</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:3EMSpwRtkvUTxfB4aS5xnA" data-name="Battles">Battles</a>), François Marry (<a href="spotify:artist:1mHTS3stAYCszPZ2PRa8QU" data-name="Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains">Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains</a>), Alain Damasio and the Vacarme trio. 2020 marks a new turn in the artist’s career, starting off with a ten-day carte blanche creation at Paris’ Théâtre du Châtelet with the Ballet National de Marseille. The narrative of the show tackles global issues such as global warming and collapse were the main inspiration for Rone’s fifth album "<a href="spotify:album:4CyOJZNNO7OKbGNHqTxmPq" data-name="Room with a View">Room with a View</a>".
In 2021, his first film soundtrack "Night Ride" won the Cesar award for Best Film Music.
