After a three-year hiatus, moving across the world on her own, and receiving an MBA degree from Canada's top business school, “Lonely Is a Lie” is released on Sabu’s birthday- down to the time of birth. “I made a pact with myself that every year on my birthday, I would wake up in a place I’ve never been. It reminds me that even if I am older and wiser, there’s still someplace I’ve never been and I am still learning and growing.” After 10 years of celebrating her birthday solo-traveling, the song’s lyrics, “I’m never gonna be without you” talks about overcoming loneliness and embracing mental health and reflects Sabu's journey of self-discovery and steadfast faith. Sabu's "Lonely is a Lie" weaves her years of solo-travel, her recent immigrant experiences, and living her life fully and joyfully.
