It's quite simple, really. Solo (Michiel Flamman, Simon Gitsels backed by Reyer Zwart and Rowin Tettero) has one goal and one goal only: a song can only see the light of day when it's perfect. There's only room for the most beautiful melodies, the ones that stick to your mind when hearing them for the first time. Guitar and piano must be clear and catchy - sometimes by sounding as upbeat as possible, sometimes by hiding sensitively in the shadows. Solo is always in search of a "Timeless Melody", just like its predecessors and idols, Nick Drake and The La's, did in the past. In the Netherlands, Solo's music has become a hallmark of pop songs with a golden glow.
