Stephen Taranto is a guitarist and solo musician from Sydney, Australia. He is known for being a member of the instrumental-progressive metal band 'The Helix Nebula', and for his impeccable technical ability with the guitar. He now aims to push the boundaries of the genre even further with his own brand of technical and aggressive virtuosity in his new found solo project.

He released his new debut solo EP "Permanence" on Friday, 22nd March. The EP combines influences from riff-driven progressive metal, extravagant orchestration and instrumentation of game/film music and his signature shred-guitar playing style.
It is a vastly dynamic EP that is equal parts intense as it is serene.
"Permanence" was mixed and mastered by Simon Grove (Plini, Intervals, The Helix Nebula) at Nerve Studios, where he also performed and wrote all the bass guitar parts. The artwork was handled by Tim Grove (Intervals, Tash Sultana) drawing inspiration from 80's Japanese art.

Stephen Taranto is set to create waves in the progressive metal/guitar driven music community, and "Permanence" will see the boundaries pushed to extreme levels. The dynamic songwriting ability combined with the technical prowess is sure to leave even the elitists impressed. Stephen Taranto will be a name to watch out for in 2019 and beyond.
