Steve Bug is a true original in electronic music. His relentless commitment to quality, as a DJ, producer, and label owner, has made him one of the world’s most revered artists. Through his label, Poker Flat, he has significantly shaped the European house and techno scene.
Dubbed the “gentleman of techno” by Resident Advisor, Steve’s professionalism and passion are evident in both his DJ sets and productions. His finely tuned sense of groove, influenced by Germany’s acid-house heyday, led him away from ’90s trance into a signature hybrid of deep house, acid, and minimal techno.
While dedicated to Poker Flat, Steve's music has also found a home on labels like Hot Creations, Nu Groove, Shall Not Fade, Bedrock, Knee Deep In Sound, Minus, Cocoon, Defected and of course Poker Fat and Sublease Music.
A rare electronic artist capable of crafting full-length albums he has released seven studio LPs over the past two decades. Most recently, he launched Sublease Music, a Poker Flat sublabel focusing on deep, club-ready cuts. As Poker Flat marks 20 years, Sublease continues Steve’s mission of championing innovative underground sounds.
