SUBPAR is a surf-punk band from Santa Cruz, California. The band is comprised of Avery Murphy (vocals/guitar), Jordan Taylor (vocals/guitar), Lukas Henderson (bass) and Austin Corona (drums). Formed in 2013 while the four were attending Santa Cruz High School, SUBPAR played rip-roaring rock and roll shows in Santa Cruz and throughout California from 2013-2015, but officially went on hiatus in 2016 with the members leaving town to attend college in different states. SUBPAR has played a handful of shows since, even releasing a single to bandcamp in early 2020.
Post 2016, Corona went on to play drums in <a href="spotify:artist:3J8YGHzxEZzHRYVxGmQCvJ" data-name="Dazey and the Scouts">Dazey and the Scouts</a>, as well as bass in <a href="spotify:artist:7gdb1IQFHFQqCc5KoLTYNC" data-name="Model/Actriz">Model/Actriz</a>, before releasing solo music under the name <a href="spotify:artist:2MgMN5BR3mfAMR5y7S2UIr" data-name="Lilacs.">Lilacs.</a> In 2020, Murphy and Taylor officially reunited to form a new project, releasing their first collection of songs as <a href="spotify:artist:0xGFys6ZDjNoPQmbVXIFtK" data-name="Hearsing">Hearsing</a> in early 2021.
SUBPAR remains on hiatus because of members living in different cities and while no new releases are currently planned, the fellas never say never! Check out the other projects in the meantime! xoxo <3
