Tempalay is a new generation rock band that traverses freely between different scenes, cultures and countries, performing at Fuji Rock Festival (‘15 & ‘17), SXSW, and touring China twice.
The band played Fuji Rock Festival’s “Rookie A Go-Go” stage only a year into their formation, and their debut EP “Instant Hawaii” sold out instantly. The following year, in January 2016, they released their first album “from JAPAN,” and expanded their audience beyond Japan by touring the US, which included an appearance at SXSW. In February 2017 they released their EP “5 Kyoku,” and was the opening act for Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s Japan tour, a band they worship. In the summer of 2017 Tempalay released their 2nd album “from JAPAN 2,” which included “Kakumei Zenya,” a song made in collaboration with the fashion brand GAP. Reminiscent of West Coast/Canadian indie scene, their infectious, laidback groove is creating fans all over.
