Formed in February 2000 around the talents of guitarist/vocalist Danny Muggs (Methric), bassist/backing vox Tony Muggs (DeNardo) & drummers Matt Rost, Todd Glass & Zach Pliska, Detroit-based blues-rock juggernaut The Muggs have spent the last 20+ years building a devoted army of local Detroit, national & international fans. On September 4th 2001, just as the train was getting rolling, tragedy struck when the 28-year-old DeNardo suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, nearly ending his life. After 2 years of intense physical therapy, DeNardo emerged victorious, but with a paralyzed right hand. Determined to pick right back up where they started, DeNardo began playing his basslines on a Fender Rhodes piano and The Muggs 2.0 were ready to hit the stage!
To date, The Muggs have six full length albums. In chronological order, they are as follows: The Muggs (2005), On With The Show (2008), Bite Of The Weredog 7” a/b side (2008), Born Ugly (2011), Full Tilt: Live At Cadieux Cafe (2013/2 disc live album), Straight Up Boogaloo (2015) & Slave To Sound Vol.5 (2020).
The Muggs have won several Detroit Music Awards including Outstanding Instrumentalist (Danny & Tony), Outstanding Rock Band & Album(s).
