The Swedish duo of Joel "Jol" Eriksson and Erik "Plejboy" Niklasson formed Similou in 2003, influenced by such wide-ranging artists as Hall & Oates, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Van Halen. Their debut 12", All This Love, was pressed in a limited edition but was well received locally, leading to a deal with DNM and a repressing of the single. After releasing several other singles, the group's debut full-length, So Hot Right Now, was essentially a collection of previously released material available for the first time on CD, along with a few new songs. Released in 2006, All This Love saw a third wave of popularity and was licensed to Sony's Direction Records sublabel and the U.K.'s Backyard Recordings in June 2006. ~ Rob Theakston, Rovi
