The Termites burst out of Kilmarnock, Scotland, in the mid-’80s, fusing punk aggression with rockabilly swagger to become one of psychobilly’s loudest and most loved exports. Their raw sound, irreverent attitude, and chaotic live shows won them a cult following across the UK and Europe, with debut album Overload cementing their place in the scene.

After a long break, they returned in the 2000s with the same high-voltage spirit, packing out venues and pulling in a new wave of fans. In 2025, the line-up welcomed Dougie Ritchie (The Three ’n’ Eights) on double bass, injecting fresh fire into the rhythm section.

Now signed to 13 Deluxe Records, The Termites are working on their most ambitious album yet — Square Go — with singles dropping through 2025 ahead of its 2026 release. They’ve also teamed up with The Borland Ceilidh Band for a psychobilly-meets-Celtic take on The Pogues’ “Boys from the County Hell.”

From day one to now, The Termites have stayed fiercely independent, loud, and impossible to ignore — a band that plays every note like it’s their last.
