Tom Middleton is a multi-award-winning British composer, producer, and DJ whose pioneering career spans more than three decades of innovation across ambient, house, techno, and cinematic sound design.
Mentored by Aphex Twin in Cornwall’s early rave scene, he went on to form seminal partnerships with Mark Pritchard as Global Communication, Reload, Link & E621, and Jedi Knights - defining 1990s electronica with genre-shaping works like the timeless ambient masterpiece 76:14 (1994).
As Cosmos, Middleton bridged underground and mainstream worlds with the 1999 club anthem Summer in Space and the crossover hit Take Me With You (2002). His acclaimed compilations - A Jedi’s Night Out, The Sound of the Cosmos, The Trip Vols. 1 & 2, 3D for Renaissance, and Crazy Covers Vols. 1 & 2 - reflect his deep musicality and passion for storytelling through sound.
In recent years, he’s evolved his signature liquatech, deep-bass house, and breakbeat style across releases and remixes for labels including Anjunadeep and Explorations, and through his sci-fi artist project GCOM with the album E2-XO, exploring otherworldly sounds and textures blended with cinematic scoring.
Middleton now creates functional music for health and wellbeing, producing globally streamed projects such as Sleep Better, Lifetracks, and Spatial Sleep and Focus Music -soundscapes designed to help millions sleep better, relax, focus, recharge, and perform at their best.
