Yan Wagner is a singer songwriter and music producer born in Paris, France, who now lives and works in the southern city of Marseilles.
With his warm and crooning voice, he's been cruising the indie scene for a little more than a decade, releasing three records of his own .
<a href="spotify:album:5FMAFgF1iLnCwrjwPWHgwZ" data-name="Forty Eight Hours">Forty Eight Hours</a> in 2012, a new wave, techno and EBM influenced collection of songs which led him to tour France, Europe and the US.
<a href="spotify:album:3uJuvVQzVhGUPPqUOEP25c" data-name="This Never Happened">This Never Happened</a> in 2017 made his music and voice reaching more diverse and sophisticated territories. Wheedling and warm, that very same voice recalls the likes of Frank Sinatra (a cover of « It Was A Very Good Year » being one of the highlights of the album) and 1980’s crooners à la David Sylvian. The figure of Scott Walker also comes to mind.
In 2021 came out his latest record to date, <a href="spotify:album:2oKMWXL13EN15OBdMX2eKp" data-name="Couleur Chaos">Couleur Chaos</a>, for the first time sung in French, and incorporating some more luminous and solar elements of G-funk and disco to his musical equation.
His name got around the French and international pop &amp; electronic music scene not only as a performer but also as producer, and he went on to remix and collaborate with numerous notable artists, from Etienne Daho to Bagarre, Black Strobe, Scratch Massive or Kid Francescoli.
Yan is the sole vocal preformer and lyricist of Gamma, Gesaffelstein’s third album released in march 2024. He is currently adding the finishing touch to the original score for « Animale » the new art house horror movie by French director Emma Benestan.
