Andy Gillion

Andy Gillion is a British composer, music producer and former lead guitarist and songwriter for metal band, <a href="spotify:artist:1k0jnWb55QS6FjTU9LzMhi" data-name="Mors Principium Est">Mors Principium Est</a>.

In 2011, Andy became the lead guitarist and songwriter for Finnish melodic death metal band, <a href="spotify:artist:1k0jnWb55QS6FjTU9LzMhi" data-name="Mors Principium Est">Mors Principium Est</a>. Since then he has written and released four albums with the band: <a href="spotify:track:2IZC7n2m42IRLV5512gW2f" data-name="...And Death Said Live">...And Death Said Live</a> (2012), <a href="spotify:album:1REyIvv1UcAveTpdmVi12d" data-name="Dawn of the 5TH Era">Dawn of the 5TH Era</a> (2014), <a href="spotify:album:66ZuUd39EVa3fRxXSH1cma" data-name="Embers of a Dying World">Embers of a Dying World</a> (2016) and <a href="spotify:album:2c5EWl16bBWCalqnglUQMC" data-name="Seven">Seven</a> (2020).

Andy first gained recognition releasing video game guitar remixes on his YouTube channel. In 2009, he joined local metal band, <a href="spotify:artist:1QeULVhmppsbQxNyGQBPPP" data-name="Shadow Law">Shadow Law</a>, from Bristol, UK, as lead guitarist and songwriter. The band’s debut album, <a href="spotify:album:1Mv0kO1H54jNknzMSkxKgI" data-name="Defending the New World">Defending the New World</a> was released in 2011.

In 2016, Andy went on to become a finalist in the 2016 Guitar Idol competition, performing live at The 100 Club in London, UK. In addition to his work as a metal guitarist, Andy has also composed music for The BBC, video games, TV commercials and various independent films.

In 2019, Andy released his debut solo record, <a href="spotify:album:5EF3XhWp08drmbdamj0HOP" data-name="Neverafter">Neverafter</a>, featuring guitar hero, <a href="spotify:artist:1bqlyIXRTCilCmvAr1newg" data-name="Jeff Loomis">Jeff Loomis</a> and drummer, <a href="spotify:artist:3YOaiBd8dGJk7C3Vq5jJqX" data-name="66samus">66samus</a>. In 2022, he released his second solo project, <a href="spotify:album:7i6RHZajbfJ3WlL5OcUXij" data-name="Arcade Metal">Arcade Metal</a>, to critical acclaim, featuring artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:2YRpsoIsb4KGe66E7hfEx5" data-name="Matthew K. Heafy">Matthew K. Heafy</a> and legendary video game composer, <a href="spotify:artist:2e5j2AHVM9srnFD0Lev7TO" data-name="Yuzo Koshiro">Yuzo Koshiro</a>.

In 2024, Andy&#39;s third solo album, <a href="spotify:album:4xPJBX6cKj7Ni7I1X3BQYl" data-name="Exilium">Exilium</a>, was released featuring <a href="spotify:artist:6irKXFXk2sPNmHtKqmrfuU" data-name="Unleash The Archers">Unleash The Archers</a> vocalist, Brittney Slayes, and Psycroptic drummer, Dave Haley.
