AVES is a Helsinki-based alternative pop collective crafting psychedelic love songs for
the soul. Their sound fuses emotional clarity with cinematic production, offering immersive
pop that explores healing, vulnerability, and transformation. Deeply felt, warmly expansive,
and defiantly human.
Formed by Antti Ojala, Eino Anttila, and Joonas Hakava, and now a six-piece with Alpo
Nummelin, Elias Durac, and Markus Perttula, AVES gained early international
momentum with their debut album Sun Sky a Floating, followed by a deliberate period of
artistic reinvention.
Their 2019 relaunch single “Gem of the Ocean” (feat. JFDR) became a quiet phenomenon
— amassing over 1.4 million Spotify streams and earning airplay on BBC 6 Music. In
2024, AVES released their second full-length album Transformations, a bold, intimate
work touching on shame, growth, and emotional evolution. The album features JFDR,
Lydmor, and Grammy-nominated producer Gianluca Buccellati (Lana Del Rey, Arlo
Parks).
With a fully realized aesthetic, an expanding international fanbase, and a genre-fluid
sound that lands somewhere between synthpop, art pop, and ambient emotion, AVES
is stepping into a new chapter — building toward international indie pop recognition, highconcept live shows, and deeper collaborations.
