A spirited and hook-driven electro-indie rock outfit based in Bristol, England, Coasts formed in 2011 around the talents of Chris Caines (vocals), Liam Willford (guitar), James Gamage (bass), David Goulbourn (keyboards), and Ben Street (drums), who met while attending university in Bath. The band issued a debut single, "Stay," in 2012, which received praise from Welsh BBC broadcaster Huw Stephens. Their debut EP -- Paradise -- was released in early 2013. A bout of extensive touring and high-profile festival appearances followed, culminating in a pair of critically acclaimed singles ("A Rush of Blood" and "Oceans") that drew comparisons to bands like Two Door Cinema Club, Foals, and Phoenix. In 2015, Coasts issued their eponymous EP via Warner Bros., while their self-titled debut LP followed in early 2016. A year later, the band returned with the single "Heart Stops Beating," the first offering from their sophomore follow-up, This Life: Vol.1, which arrived in the summer of 2017. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
