Dennis Johnson, professionally known as D Jay, is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter and an upcoming producer who has made a significant impact in the music scene with his unique blend of Afrobeats, trap and pop music. His rise to fame has been swift, marked by a fresh sound that has redefined the new wave of Afrobeats.
Born on September 1, 2001, D Jay developed an early passion for music. He gained attention after his first single Bo Norr; which he released during his high School days. His next big single ‘Joy’ triggered interests of industry folks in Ghana.
In 2022, D Jay released yet another global hit “Balance it” getting him super hyped and buzzing in the Ghanaian music scene; generating millions of streams all over digital music platforms and elevating the brand D Jay. ‘Balance it’ landed him 2 nominations in the 2023 TGMAs; “New Artiste of the Year”; and “Best Afrobeats song of the year”. He then featured one of the biggest Afrobeats artiste in Africa “Mr Eazi” on a remix of “Balance it”, propelling his brand to the bigger front.
He went on to release an EP; “STARMAN”. Also accumulating over 100 million streams across streaming platforms in 2023. D Jay got featured on a single of Mr Eazi and Mugeez in 2024.
