Born Michael Takyi-Frimpong, Lordpaper made a grand entrance into the Ghanaian music scene with his EP, Somewhere In North K which received critical acclaim by music executives in Ghana. As an artiste, he tries to explore all the music opportunities that presents to him, making him versatile in his music craft. His distinctive voice and sound, has elements of hip hop, soul and afrobeat, with the latter taking a proportionate size of music consumption in the world.
LordPaper is a multiple-award nominee, highlighting is importance and relevance in the Ghana music industry, since his debut in 2016,
Afrobeat has even inspired some world greats such Drake, who collaborated with Wizkid of Nigeria on ‘One Dance’. ‘Dzigbordi’, the lead single of his EP Somewhere In North K received nationwide attention, as the artist spoke about how ethnicity was a barrier in romantic relationship in Ghana.
“As an artiste, we have a big platform and an audience to educate, and as I try to do the entertainment bits of it, it’s only right to also inform people” he says.
Recently, the versatile artiste performed on the biggest musical stage in Ghana, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), where he received 2 nominations under the music year in review (April 2019- April 2020).
