Based out of Portland, Oregon, Greylag (named after the old world ancestor of modern domestic geese) specializes in a heady blend of overcast Pacific Northwest folk-rock and rousing indie Americana that falls somewhere between Fleet Foxes, Crosby, Stills, & Nash, Band of Horses, and Led Zeppelin III. Formed around the talents of Virginia native Andrew Stonestreet (lead vocal, acoustic guitar), California native Daniel Dixon (lead guitar, keyboards), and Texas native Brady Swan (drums), the trio enlisted Phil Ek (Modest Mouse, the Shins) to produce their eponymous debut album, which arrived via Dead Oceans Records in the autumn of 2014. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
