Henry X, born in the Netherlands to Ghanaian parents, grew up in a household where music flowed like water. Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Prince, Tupac, Daddy Lumba, Kojo Antwi and more. With turntables and records. Music wasn’t just a hobby it was part of his DNA. Into Henry X, a name that would later resonate across Europe and Africa alike.
His big breakthrough came in 2016, when he collaborated with Nigerian superstar Wizkid on the hit track “Like This”. The fusion of Afrobeat and electronic vibes captured a global audience and firmly established Henry X as a bridge between African and Western sounds. Henry X wasn’t content with just being a DJ/ producer. He became a curator and cultural connector. Through his event series Blends/BlendsWorld, The Tastes of Africa. He created platforms that celebrated the fusion of African and electronic music. His shows, held at iconic venues like the Gashouder in Amsterdam and Maassilo in Rotterdam, regularly sold out.
Henry X has been elevating African artists in the Dutch music scene working on headlines shows of Burna Boy, Wizkid, Rema, Omah Lay, King Promise, Fuse ODG, Maleek Berry, R2bees & more, to Dutch audiences before the global explosion. Now, after over two decades in the industry, he’s focused on a new chapter: launching a label: LEAP ‘Lets Elevate as People” and mentoring the next wave of global talent.
