Hypernatural is Dan Whitford, better known as one of the pillars of Melbourne heavyweights <a href="spotify:artist:4EENT7N7rCBwrddM3s0vFS" data-name="Cut Copy">Cut Copy</a>, producer and engineer extraordinaire <a href="spotify:artist:3ngm5zwSzNjZLz4qfcF2sJ" data-name="Mirko">Mirko</a> Vogel who has recorded for Modular and Room40, and Mike Gamwell, also known as <a href="spotify:artist:5NteBfpzjcVerc1OK9XelJ" data-name="Knightlife">Knightlife</a>, who’s racked up several releases on Cut Copy’s own Cutters Records. You could say their roots are in Melbourne, Australia, but it seems unfair to pinpoint the band to any specific location.
A little while ago, the trio got together and ventured into the remote wilderness to make music. It was part holiday / part experiment. The experiment worked, and the results felt good, so they did it again, this time travelling even further off-grid. When they emerged, the trio were changed forever, and realised they had written an album.
