ikkubaru

Ikkubaru is an Indonesian 4-piece band whose name was created by converting the band’s frontman&#39;s name, “Iqbal” into a Japanese katakana romanization. Established in Bandung, December 2011, Ikkubaru was heavily influenced by the 80’s Japanese music, such as; <a href="spotify:artist:41hQ0PoEyj9xEBhwt73aWC" data-name="Tatsuro Yamashita">Tatsuro Yamashita</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3WwGRA2o4Ux1RRMYaYDh7N" data-name="Mariya Takeuchi">Mariya Takeuchi</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:3sQKcUtvMwpzlc7j0wSkxJ" data-name="角松 敏生">角松 敏生</a>. Their debut album “<a href="spotify:album:2nkyyh9Wmji0a1a3ga6h9A" data-name="Amusement Park">Amusement Park</a>” (2014) was a major success in Japan. The artwork for their 12” vinyl record was designed by the most famous Japanese City Pop artist, Hiroshi Nagai.

During the pandemic of COVID-19 in 2020, they also released their sophomore album, “<a href="spotify:album:0AXZJQdtYuxOqn50svT1eB" data-name="Chords &amp; Melodies">Chords &amp; Melodies</a>”, in Japan and Indonesia by the Japanese record label, HAYABUSA LANDINGS. With them ikkubaru have released 3 maxi-single, &#34;<a href="spotify:track:2iUmIo8RtknYXLjRGlusVd" data-name="Summer Love Story">Summer Love Story</a>&#34;, &#34;<a href="spotify:track:3NLMY8Wh4hUC32sPANETIA" data-name="Lagoon">Lagoon</a> &#34;, &#34;<a href="spotify:track:4I63wEhh30DCcgKZjvvNjP" data-name="The Man In The Mirror">The Man In The Mirror</a>&#34;. Each of them were released into various formats, from 7&#34; vinyl to 8cm 短冊CD.

In 2024, their third album, DECADE, was physically released in three countries in three different formats. The 12&#34; vinyl record was done by their Japanese label, HAYABUSA LANDINGS, in Record Store Day Japan, while the cassette tape version was released by the Taiwanese label, 感傷唱片行 Kind of Blue Records.
