Over the past 20 years, Jacob Bellens has established himself as a significant figure in the Danish music scene. With distinct vocals and an unwavering curiosity, he constantly explores new facets of his musicality. Known for captivating melodies, he is a genuine pop auteur.
He began releasing music in 2004 with the electronic project Livstrompet, has released three acclaimed albums as part of the folk duo Murder. As the lead singer and songwriter for the Danish indie rock band I Got You On Tape, he has released five albums that are now considered cult classics.
His debut album as a solo artist, “The Daisy Age,” was released in 2012 and showcased a minimalist, analog sound recorded live on tape. In 2014, he took a different direction with “My Convictions,” a release that featured his personal take on vintage pop, including orchestral elements from the Warsaw Radio Orchestra.
On his third solo album “Polyester Skin” from 2016, Bellens again walked new musical paths. The electronically based production was created in close collaboration with the Danish DJ and producer Kasper Bjørke.
In 2018, Jacob Bellens released the introspective album “Trail Of Intuition,” offering a range of emotionally diverse musical snapshots with a catchy pop style. This was followed by “My Heart Is Hungry And The Days Go By So Quickly” in 2020, showcasing a more organic and band-oriented sound within Bellens’ musical universe.
