Jonny Nash is widely regarded as one of the most distinctive musical voices on the ambient and new age scene.
A relocation to Amsterdam in 2016 coincided with the launch of his label, Melody As Truth. A run of solo records alongside collaborations with likeminded soul <a href="spotify:artist:1FTn5osUbCr8n7WgYmbK5m" data-name="Suzanne Kraft">Suzanne Kraft</a> set out the mission statement and cemented the sound of Nash’s contemplative, spacious yet melodic style. Combining elements of washed-out guitar textures, e-bow and electronics, Nash emerged as one of the key artists in the new wave of ambient music.
This was further cemented through his work as part of <a href="spotify:artist:2rxgmguaQSynTMnBKZL73G" data-name="Gaussian Curve">Gaussian Curve</a>, the ‘ambient super-group’ he formed alongside ambient pioneer <a href="spotify:artist:0dCVhSVXD9JhJh2bTySJZx" data-name="Gigi Masin">Gigi Masin</a> and Dutch producer <a href="spotify:artist:7zpN81tVvPwlHcJSkSCyRa" data-name="Young Marco">Young Marco</a>. <a href="spotify:artist:2rxgmguaQSynTMnBKZL73G" data-name="Gaussian Curve">Gaussian Curve</a>’s two albums, and especially debut set <a href="spotify:album:4FC9qI04vobItNEKVeRh8Q" data-name="Clouds">Clouds</a>, are now considered classics of the genre.
Following the release of his <a href="spotify:album:7gOZhPMdHbAvo2RtHiZ9on" data-name="Make A Wilderness">Make A Wilderness</a> album on highly acclaimed Dutch imprint Music From Memory, he undertook a period of collaboration that included forays into folk and acoustic music.
