Gritty and rebellious, KING makes nuanced and mature pop music with genuine emotional heft. Born in Copenhagen to a Cuban mother and a Chilean father, at 11 she began honing her performance skills by dancing with local street dance outfits and quickly joined a Copenhagen urban dance academy and by 15 she was earning her living as a dance teacher. KING first announced herself on the world stage in summer 2016 with the release of debut single ‘Promise’. She released her debut album 'I Made It' in early 2020, with leadsingle 'No Hablo Inglés'.
With ’I Made It’ the Danish/Cuban singer unfolds in a modern, international and varied soundscape, that oozes of raw energy and life as a true debut-album has to. KING is experimental and she is constantly pushing boundaries, combined with honest lyrics and personal storytelling.
The album is pure KING power with her authentic personality creating a red line through the whole album that playful dives into several genres such as r’n’b, latin pop, pure pop and even some dubstep passage.
KING is releasing her next album 'RIP MB' on September 10th, the album is and ode to producer and her friend Marcus Borrman, who sadly passed away in February 2020, while they where recording this album.
