Minami Kizuki: Soul Singer from Amami Island
Minami Kizuki is a powerful, soulful singer whose voice is deeply rooted in the traditional "Shima Uta" folk music and the nature of her home, Amami Oshima. Bridging Japanese tradition and modern music, she gained international recognition after singing the Japanese theme, "Reflection," for Disney’s live-action film Mulan (2020).
平成元年 鹿児島県奄美大島生まれ。
奄美民謡「シマ唄」をルーツに持つシンガー。
2014年7月からテレビ東京「THE カラオケ★バトル」に出演し、番組初となる10冠を達成。
2020年、ディズニー実写映画『ムーラン』の日本版主題歌「リフレクション」の歌唱が決定し日本版の訳詞も担当した。
2024年には、UK JAZZムーブメントの中心人物であるYussef Dayesの来日時、富士山セッションに歌と三味線で緊急参加。その動画が世界中に発信され、富士山をバックに和服姿で三味線を弾きながら歌う姿が絶賛された。
その後もFUJI ROCK FESTIVAL´24、GREENROOM FESTIVAL 2025、さらに、世界最大規模の野外フェスである、イギリスのグラストンベリー・フェスティバル2025でもセッションを行った。
