This ground breaking jazz-rock group emerged in the early 1970-s from the townships of Cape Town, South Africa. They were resident at a top nightclub in the city playing danceable cover versions and on a Sunday night they played a jazz gig featuring their own songs. They released three original albums ( Black Fire, On Time and Expressions) which have been released in several countries and their recordings have been widely compiled. The group were seen as the un-official jazz school for aspiring young jazz musicians from the Cape Flats. Key members were - Paul Abrahams, Jack Momple, Chris Schilder, Issy Ariefdien, Zayn Adams, Tony Cedras, Robbie Jansen, Basil Coetzee, Stompie Manana, Barney Rachabane, Jonathan Butler, Alvin Dyers, Trevor Parker and others.
