Sadie Ama is a British R&B singer most prominently known for her single "Fallin'" and her guest performances on tracks by various R&B and urban artists. Ama got her first taste of the industry when her elder sister Shola Ama shot to fame in the '90s with her own brand of contemporary R&B and dance. Having come from a very musical family and watching her aunt perform in a collective jazz group called the Clamber, music ran in the family. An erstwhile child model, Ama also appeared in a number of music videos throughout the '90s, most notably portraying a younger version of Mel B in the video for "Mama" by the Spice Girls. She then went on to appear in the videos for "Broken Silence" by So Solid Crew and "50/50" by Lemar. In her late teens, she began to explore her singing voice and landed herself a vocal contribution to grime producer Terror Danjah's single "So Sure" alongside the talents of Kano in 2004. The track met resounding success in the U.K. Charts. After a break to focus on her studies, Ama returned to music and released the track "Fallin'," which rose to number 67 on the U.K. Singles Chart. This resulted in a nomination for Best U.K. Newcomer at the 2007 MOBO Awards. She later joined the urban collective A-List (formed by grime artist Wiley) to provide vocal duties alongside her sister Shola. She spent the following years working on her own material. In 2016, she was featured on the track "You Want Me" by Tom Zanetti. ~ Rob Wacey, Rovi
