Slow Pain

West Coast rapper Slow Pain started beatboxing in 1992 with <a href="spotify:artist:2n26peG3RS8IYBiMJW4yxb">Street Mentality</a>, a gangsta rap group who eventually landed a deal with <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22BMG%22">BMG</a>. <a href="spotify:artist:2n26peG3RS8IYBiMJW4yxb">Street Mentality</a>, Slow Pain, <a href="spotify:artist:3Lmnbome9oM8BCWUfmbi3Z">LiL-V</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:3HuJUWcLjsLUDZ5f2cu3K4">Bandit</a> toured with Southern Latin hip-hopsters <a href="spotify:artist:7AyywyUcQP99oit737gZK2">A Lighter Shade of Brown</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6vFKxAcVuWQhv5J6CO9dQz">A.L.T.</a> throughout 1993, yet their debut recording was only mildly successful. Shortly thereafter, Slow Pain began working with <a href="spotify:artist:6vFKxAcVuWQhv5J6CO9dQz">A.L.T.</a>, recording the single "Coupe de Ville." This newfound inspiration led to the musical change of adding rapper <a href="spotify:artist:6OxjXk1y4QXXRUJyldFIIG">Kid Frost</a> and incorporating Latin tinges in their gangsta rap sound. The group Three Deep was born -- however, overshadowing tragedy lurked in the background.

Upon striking a deal with <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Ruthless+Records%22">Ruthless Records</a>, Three Deep's musical hopes were shattered by the devastating death of fellow West Coast rapper <a href="spotify:artist:7B4hKK0S9QYnaoqa9OuwgX">Eazy-E</a>. This misfortune led Slow Pain and <a href="spotify:artist:6vFKxAcVuWQhv5J6CO9dQz">A.L.T.</a> to venture off into solo projects. Slow Pain signed with <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Thump+Records%22">Thump Records</a> in the mid-'90s and recorded The Baby OG, which included the popular cut "Money Maid." New projects surfaced into the new millennium: Slow Pain was working with hardcore rapper <a href="spotify:artist:4sb7rZNN93BSS6Gqgepo4v">Too $hort</a> and shaping a new group with <a href="spotify:artist:6OxjXk1y4QXXRUJyldFIIG">Kid Frost</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:37YcGi7z4aXgzWu4jGRe4H">Mellow Man Ace</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6vFKxAcVuWQhv5J6CO9dQz">A.L.T.</a>, and O.G.enius (the Blvd. Knights). His sophomore effort, The Hit List, was released in March 2000. Lil' Don Juan and Presents Old Town Gangsters were both issued the following year. Raider 4 Life appeared in 2003, followed by L.A.
