SoulFa (靈魂沙發), whose Mandarin name stands for “sofa with a soul”, was founded in 2018 in Taipei. The trio—lead vocalist/guitarist Panson (本山), guitarist Poopoo, and bassist Henry (亨利)—crafts a signature sound that blends 90's Britpop with elements of roots rock and psychedelic rock, their lyrics flowing between Mandarin and English.
Having released two acclaimed albums and numerous singles while selling out multiple shows since their first album tour, SoulFa has quickly established themselves as a prominent force in Taiwan's indie scene. Through their songwriting, SoulFa celebrates the intricacies of human connection. Their dreamy lyrics and smooth-sailing melodies, reminiscent of classic road movies, offer an escape from daily clutters, inviting audiences to pause, breathe, and find spiritual solace within the music's embrace.
Their newest EP "So Far" (2023), landed on multiple major streaming platforms' official playlists, with the title track selected as one of the Top 50 Singles at the Freshmusic Awards.
