Born in London. Raised in Nigeria, Tomie Boy is a culmination of the best of both worlds. An authentic representation of a fusion of the two cultures. He uses this to transition the gap between the two worlds impeccably. Possessing a wide vocal range and the ability to put words together with quick tonal changes and an uncanny ability to make any instrumental sound like it was tailor-made for him, His sound cannot be assessed as anything less than silky smooth.
A much-needed fresh face on the scene, Tomie Boy, has consistently set a high standard for current artists embarking on the path of the Afro-beat sound. Making his mark in 2019 with “Get Down” produced by Yalababayala. a hard-hitting single brought to life and unified by Tomie Boys' energetic and effortless style.
His musical start had humble beginnings. As a child, Tomie Boy was always in awe of the drummers at the church he attended. He aspired to create music from this early experience and fuelling this endeavour to this very day, is his relationship with God and the love for the culture he represents. These are the driving forces behind his work rate and musical dexterity and the passion behind his projects is unmistakable.
Thus far, his largest career highlights are his song with Otega “Espanyol” and his killer feature on Curtis Js’ “Check Your Balance”. Both of these are out now on all available platforms. And make no mistake, this is the beginning.
